I have been feeling a little down for the past while due to a few things going on in my life. My mother was diagnosed with extended stage lung cancer, my sister tested positive for the “cancer gene,” Our “new,” very old house is sucking the life (and cash) out of us, Henry is waking up four times a night, etc., etc. …
But enough negativity! Inspired by a friend, this month I decided to look on the bright side of life and compile a list of all the things I and we should be thankful for, so here we go …
Our health
The Shuttle
That we live in a community that is liberal and accepting of all lifestyles
That we live in a blue state
That we live in the midwest (not an area regularly ravaged by hurricanes)
That we can see the Chicago skyline from our burb
That Barrie Park is clean and open
Diverse architecture
NLP
Great schools
That we live in a village that strongly supports the arts
Delicious food

Hopefully, this will give you enough inspiration to stay on the positive side of life. Remember that life is short, so you’d better be doing everything that makes you happy!
