Here is a message I sent to the village board:
The construction on Oak Park Avenue has hit businesses hard. I propose the village, upon completion of the project, take out an ad in Wednesday Journal that lists all the businesses with a message to the effect that they are eager and ready as ever to serve their patrons as before. And … as a gift to the businesses, the village should provide a 10 percent discount on all goods and services for a week after the street is fully functional.
