Oak Park police arrested a Chicago man on attempted aggravated kidnapping charges last week.
Police arrested the 28-year-old in connection with an attempted kidnapping investigation stemming from an incident in the 500 block of Belleforte Avenue on April 25, according to police. The man was held for bond hearings, according to police.
The victims in the incident were two Oak Park residents, one adult and one child, according to police.
Battery incidents
Oak Park police are investigating multiple battery incidents in the village over the last week, according to police.
Shortly after 6:10 p.m. May 12, an Oak Park Juvenile girl was walking in the 200 block of South Euclid Avenue when a man approached her from behind and punched her in the face several times according to police. The man was last seen running west on Randolph Street, according to police.
Shortly before 9 a.m. May 26, a man was panhandling in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue when an Oak Park resident asked him to leave the premise, according to police. The man then became aggressive and struck the victim in the face, before fleeing east bound on Chicago Avenue, according to police.
These items were obtained from Oak Park’s Police Department reports dated May 20 – May 27 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated. We report the race of a suspect only when a serious crime has been committed, the suspect is still at large, and police have provided us with a detailed a description of the suspect as they seek the public’s help in making an arrest.
