As longtime Oak Park residents, co-owners Heather Nelson and Sophie Eldred have called this community home for more than 25 years. We raised our families here; we enjoy being a part of this diverse community, and now we’re incredibly proud to own a small business right in the heart of Downtown Oak Park.
Since opening The Book Loft Oak Park, our goal has been simple: create the kind of independent bookstore we would want to visit ourselves.

The Book Loft Oak Park has become a gathering place for author events, book clubs, children’s story times, community events, school partnerships and plenty of unexpected fun.
