A man drove alongside a Chicago resident’s vehicle, displaying a firearm and yelling, at about 12:30 p.m. on May 8 on the 400 block of North Austin Boulevard. The man was last seen driving east on Interstate 290 from Austin in a silver Ford Edge with a Nevada registration.
Residential burglary
Someone, by unknown means, broke into an Oak Park residence on the 1000 block of South Boulevard May 10. The person ransacked the place and stole a MacBook Air laptop, a charger, money and two Apple watch bands. The estimated loss is unknown.
Motor vehicle theft
- Someone stole an Oak Park resident’s silver 2003 Mercedes SL500 between April 29 and May 7 on the 900 block of South Humphrey Avenue. The estimated loss is $10,000.
- Somone stole an Oak Park resident’s 2012 Lexus RX 350 between May 10 and May 11 on the 900 block of Home Avenue. The estimated loss is $14,445.
- Someone stole an Oak Park resident’s 2015 Jeep Patriot May 11 on the 300 block of Chicago Avenue. The estimated loss is $7,400.
Theft
A man was seen on video entering the front of an Oak Park resident’s building May 8 on the 300 block of South Austin Boulevard. He was then seen stealing an unattended Louis Vuitton luggage bag that had clothing, shoes, a passport and $3,000 in it. The estimated loss is $10,000.
Burglary to motor vehicle
- Someone, likely through an unlocked door, got into an Oak Park resident’s 2015 Nissan Pathfinder between May 5 and May 6 on the 500 block of South Ridgeland Avenue. The individual stole a credit card, AirPods and a multi-tool knife. The estimate loss is unknown.
- Someone, through an unlocked door, got into a Chicago resident’s 2012 Toyota Tundra on May 6 on the 700 block of North Grove Avenue. The person stole a Husky tool bag, a bookbag that had an HP laptop, an iPad, a mini drone, a drill, batteries and other miscellaneous hand tools. The estimated loss is $3,760.
Arrests
- A 36-year-old Chicago man was arrested May 7 on the 200 block of South Austin Boulevard for violation of an order of protection.
- A 31-year-old Chicago man was arrested for aggravated fleeing and eluding the police May 9 on the 500 block of South Boulevard.
- A 39-year-old woman from Cincinnati, Ohio, was arrested for battery May 11 on the 500 block of South Maple Avenue.
- A 41-year-old man from Oak Lawn was arrested for a residential burglary and a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred on the 800 block of Lake Street April 26. He was also arrested for residential burglary and theft that occurred on the 800 block of Lake Street April 27. He was arrested May 10 on the 1100 block of Washington Boulevard.
These items were obtained from Oak Park Police Department reports dated May 6 – 13 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated. We report the race of a suspect only when a serious crime has been committed, the suspect is still at large, and police have provided us with a detailed physical description of the suspect as they seek the public’s help in making an arrest.
