Nancy Corzine — the mother of a former New Jersey governor and CEO of Goldman Sachs — died in her Oak Park home on Jan. 31.

Ms. Corzine, 95, raised her two sons in Taylorville, Ill., and spent her later years in Oak Park, where she was often seen dining with her son Jon Corzine, according to Crain’s Chicago Business.

Jon Corzine served as governor of New Jersey from 2006 to 2010, and as a U.S. senator for six years prior. Before his political career, Corzine was the CEO of Goldman Sachs. After failing to win a second term as governor, he became CEO of financial services firm MF Global, a position that he resigned from following a bankruptcy filing and federal scrutiny. That included some $663 million in missing customer accounts, according to a Bloomberg report.

Ms. Corzine raised Jon and his brother Allen in Taylorville. She worked as a first-grade teacher while her husband, the late Roy Allen Corzine Jr., was a corn and soybean farmer and insurance agent, according to Crain’s.

In addition to her two sons, she is also survived by three grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 924 Lake St. in Oak Park. A funeral service will follow at the church, while interment, at Old Stonington Cemetery, is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Episcopal, or First United Methodist Church of Taylorville.
