The No Kings movement is back with planned protests nationwide on Saturday, Oct. 17, with a focus on early voting and election education.

“It’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation, being in community with each other and making sure every eligible voter has a plan, knows their options and is ready to make their voice count,” according to the No Kings website.

Although there is not an official protest planned in Oak Park, residents have been invited to join the protest in Forest Park, and a flyer for a protest at the Broadview ICE detention facility has been shared on social media.

The protest in Broadview, at 1930 Beach St., is planned for 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Forest Park rally will take place at 7510 Roosevelt Rd., from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

There are dozens of other demonstrations planned in nearby municipalities and individual neighborhoods throughout Chicago. Details can be found on the No Kings website alongside voting resources. Indivisible Chicago Alliance also posted a list of actions their chapters and partners are hosting around the Chicago area.
