Several friends and I have worked Early Voting at Oak Park Village Hall, 123 Madison. Here are a few tips to consider: Check your registration online at the Cook County website to change your address or make any corrections. Online registration ends Sunday, Oct. 18. If you still need to register to vote, bring 2 forms of identification, one with your address, to Early Voting.

Early Voting is Oct. 19 through Nov. 2. Village hall will be open 9-5 weekdays and Sundays 10-4. The first few days will be crowded and so will the last couple of days. Plan to avoid the longer lines. Enter through the courtyard on Madison Street.

If you are a person with a disability, enter from the Lombard Accessible Entrance off the parking lot and use the elevator to the first floor. Go along the partitioned corridor to an election judge. Caregivers may accompany you.

If you have a Mail-In Ballot, you may go to the front of the line and deposit it in the Dropbox throughout the Early Voting period. Make sure you sign the outside of the envelope with the same name on your registration.

There has always been a source of pride that America has “free and fair elections.” We can be grateful that our state and county are organized so that elections go smoothly. Let’s do our part to promote voting and exercise our right to vote in the Midterms.
