Marion Ann Boomer Hauser, 64, died on Sept. 20, 2026 at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, surrounded by family and friends after a 2.5-year battle from uterine carcinosarcoma. Friends from all over the world were inspired and encouraged by her warm compassion, high moral integrity, intellect, Christian devotion, strong work ethic, athleticism, sense of humor and passionate nature.
Growing up in Waukegan, one of her passions was cooking, passed on by her mother Lura. She studied nutrition and ultimately became a registered dietitian. She had the gift of hospitality and her great joy was cooking for her family and friends. Another was athletics, participating in marathons and triathlons with her buddy, Tim Kenny, and hiking and biking in Canada, Italy, Corsica, and the U.S.
She and her husband Ross were together since nursery school. This included studying the Bible and becoming involved in church activities (Harrison Street Bible Church and Calvary in Oak Park, Sanibel Community Church, First Assembly in Fort Myers). They founded Beulah Land Natural Medicine Clinic in Thebes, Illinois, as a free charity clinic for 11 years. She was also an active board member of the Huntley Brown Foundation.
They formed the company Caring Medical in 1991 and Marion joined Ross in the medical practice in 1995 acting as CEO and for the next 30 years. They ran, promoted, and researched innovative medical therapies, especially Prolotherapy.
They vacationed with family and friends for many years in Sanibel Island, eventually building a home and living in Florida permanently since 2016. They moved their medical clinic operation there in 2021.
Marion is survived by Ross, her husband of 40 years; Lynne and Bernie; her siblings, Ellen, Liz, and Staci (Jon); her nephews Kyle (Jennifer), Torin (Anna) and Alex (Mikayla); her niece, Sara, and many grandnieces and nephews; and a host of friends (Mary Lou, John, Nicole, Maureen and too many to mention) who loved and admired her. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard/Lura, Aunt/Uncle Marion and Quillian Murphy, nephew Tommy and friends (Pastor Peter, C.W. and many others).
A memorial service to celebrate Marion’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 24 at Village Church in Oak Park, followed by lunch at Trattoria 225 just around the corner from the church. Marion treated all people equally. She came to believe the best way to live life is to honor God as described in the Bible.
