As a loyal Pete’s Market customer, I am concerned that there is no north-side pedestrian entrance to the new Pete’s location on Madison Street and Oak Park Avenue. For a customer to access the store on foot from the northeast-side neighborhoods, one is required to circle to the front of the store and enter with automobile traffic. This causes bottlenecks and presents real issues for accessibility and safety. I ask that Pete’s create a simple walkway for pedestrians arriving on foot from the northeast side of Oak Park. After enduring years and years of upheaval (construction, traffic, noise, environmental hazards) for the building of this store, it seems the least the company could do for its neighbors.
