Nice alliteration in the headline about opening of Pete’s: “People pack Pete’s Market for the grand opening.” [News, Aug. 26]. Would’ve been fun to add to it. For those who’d waited a long time: “Patient people pack Pete’s.” For discerning folk: “Particular people pack Pete’s.” For those who insisted on being there: “Persistent people pack Pete’s.” Then there would be nitpicking people: “Persnickety people pack Pete’s.” And those running for office: “Political people pack Pete’s.” Never mind the folks who were nattering while waiting: “Palavering people pack Pete’s.” I’d bet that some were recording their experience for broadcast: “Podcasting people pack Pete’s.” Those who hadn’t bathed in a while: “Pungent people pack Pete’s.” What about really ancient citizens: “Paleolithic patriarchs pack Pete’s.” Enough. I credit wife Judith with several of these contributions.
