
Martha Ann McEachran Woods, 89, died peacefully on July 28, 2026, surrounded by her three daughters, Ann Bell, Susan McGraugh and Carol Eiber. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George Edward Woods Jr.
Martha loved her family foremost, including her three sons-in-law, Marty Bell, Chris McGraugh and Troy Eiber. She relished time with her eight grandchildren and their spouses: Caitlin and Kyle Wasserberger, Jack and Rebecca Bell, Christie Bell and Mac Bell, Dan and Mary Kate McGraugh, and Griffin and Laurel Eiber. Her great-granddaughter, Annaliese Wasserberger, was the light of her life.
Born on August 11, 1936, she enjoyed an active life right into her 80s. She loved to play tennis and golf and was a dedicated traveler. A member of First Presbyterian Church of River Forest, she was an active participant in church life. She was also a member of the River Forest Tennis Club, the Infant Welfare Society, and the West Suburban Hospital Auxiliary. Her happy place was at the cottage in Michigan with her family and one of her many wonderful dogs.
A celebration of Martha’s life was held on Aug. 8 at the First Presbyterian Church of River Forest. Internment private.
