River Forest police arrested and charged a person with four felony offenses after responding to a reported home invasion early on July 20 according to a press release.
The preliminary investigation revealed one of the residents of a home on the 100 block of Gale Avenue confronted the person as they were allegedly trying to forcefully enter through the patio door. The intruder went into the home armed with a knife and a fight broke out.
Although one of the residents sustained non-life-threatening injuries, both residents were able to make it out of the house and contacted police.
Around 1:45 a.m., River Forest police, with help from neighboring law enforcement and a K-9 unit, were able to place a perimeter and find the intruder just a few blocks away.
The suspect was charged with home invasion while armed with a dangerous weapon, home invasion causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
