Since everyone who lives in Oak Park pays property taxes, directly or indirectly, we consider the new proposed single-family zoning change to be taxation without representation.
Therefore, we are requesting a referendum on this matter. We are already one of the densest cities in Illinois with many condos, duplexes, apartment buildings and heavy traffic.
Affordable housing is a well-meaning goal. However, we are at maximum capacity compared to other parts of the country.
