River Forest World War I Memorial Hall will be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Please join us to remember and learn about some of our 252 local veterans who served during WWI. Memorial Hall will be open from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m., Monday, and is located at 7560 Oak Ave., at Roosevelt Middle School in River Forest.
Thanks to an Eagle Scout, much research has been compiled on these veterans and is contained in an alphabetized directory listing information about each. You may learn you are living in a WWI veteran’s home.

Some new research has been done on the artisan sculptor who created the decorative war memorial plaque that is installed in the hall. Anna Mary Meyer Tilden grew up in Oak Park and later lived in River Forest.
As America begins to celebrate 250 years of freedom, please take time to visit, honor, and remember our local heroes from WWI in Memorial Hall on Monday, May 25.
