Oak Park police arrested a juvenile from Chicago on gun related charges earlier this month. 

Police arrested the juvenile on unlawful use of weapon charges in the 700 block of Lake Street the afternoon of Jan. 3, according to police. 

The juvenile had been identified by a witness as being in possession of a firearm, according to police. 

Battery arrests 

Oak Park police arrested two men on battery charges in connection with unrelated incidents over the weekend. 

Police arrested a 23-year-old Chicago man on two counts of battery in connection with an alleged attack on an Oak Park resident and a Chicago resident, according to police. Police arrested the man in the 500 block of South Maple Avenue at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, according to police. 

Police also arrested a 28-year-old Freeport man on aggravated battery charges on Saturday. Police arrested the man in the 900 block of Madison Street shortly after 1 p.m. on Jan. 10, according to police. 

These items were obtained from Oak Park’s Police Department reports dated Jan. 2– Jan. 11 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated. We report the race of a suspect only when a serious crime has been committed, the suspect is still at large, and police have provided us with a detailed a description of the suspect as they seek the public’s help in making an arrest.
