Shrubtown: Decision 2024!

Our June fundraiser has begun! Will you stand up for local news in Oak Park and River Forest?

Last year, when the future of the Wednesday Journal was uncertain, you stepped up. You and your fellow readers helped stabilize our newsroom and gave us the opportunity to fight for a future where truly local journalism could continue serving Oak Park and River Forest. Thank you.

That support carried us through to this moment.

Earlier this year, the Wednesday Journal became part of NEWSWELL, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening and sustaining community news across the country. That transition positions us for greater long-term stability, but the core truth hasn’t changed: local journalism only survives when communities decide it matters enough to support.

This year, our ask is simple: Will you become a monthly donor and make sure Oak Park and River Forest always have a newsroom dedicated to them? Monthly donors provide a predictable and reliable revenue stream that sustains your community’s news.
