Multiple bullets early Saturday morning struck the window of a brick house and a black Ford Mustang convertible parked in the driveway, police reported.

No one was injured in the shooting on the 800 block of North Marion Street.

The unit’s resident was out of town, according to Dan Yopchick, a spokesman for Oak Park’s police department.

Saturday marked the second shooting since February at the residence, he said.

Police arrived at the scene at about 12:16 a.m. after many people called 911 to report shots were fired in the area. Yopchick said they recorded about 8 to 9 bullet holes in the Mustang parked in the driveway and 4 to 5 holes in the basement’s glass block windows.

Jack Crowe, who lives nearby, said he saw a silver sedan parked in front of the building at the time of the shooting, then witnessed it fleeing south down the block. Crowe is an occasional writer for Wednesday Journal.

“This is not acceptable,” he said.

According to Yopchick, the investigation so far shows that the incident is targeted. Police said they do not believe there is a danger to the community, he said.
