It was perhaps the toughest job in Oak Park through the COVID pandemic. Running Oak Park’s public health department took expertise, determination, political savvy and some thick skin.
Those were virtues Dr. Theresa Chapple brought when she was hired in May 2021. So many hard decisions on what was open and what was shuttered, plans for mass vaccinations, data collection and a calming message to a flustered community. Those were all qualities Chapple brought.
Now she is moving on with a so-far-undisclosed career move. We wish her well and offer thanks.
