A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck early Tuesday morning at North Avenue and Ridgeland Avenue.
The Oak Park Fire Department was sent to the scene at about 9 a.m. Paramedics pronounced the man dead on the scene as a result of the nature of his injuries, officials said.
Traffic was temporarily diverted from the area while the Oak Park Police Department investigated at the scene. Traffic restrictions have been lifted.
