Thomas J. Joslin, 87, of Elmwood Park died on July 19, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. Born on Jan. 22, 1934 to the late William Murray and Mary Catherine (née Kallal) Joslin, he was a spirited, kind and generous man, a natural athlete who loved running and golf and spending time with good friends and his family. Growing up in Oak Park, he attended St. Giles Grammar School, Oak Park and River Forest High School, and Loras College. He built a long and successful career in the insurance industry, retiring in 2011 from Aon after 50 years of service.
He was the husband for 61 years to the love of his life, Veronica (née Hanley); the father of Jennifer “Jena,” Maureen (the late Jeff) McCoy, Patrick (Wendy), Erin (Ron) Oesterlein and Peter (Colleen Morrissey); grandfather (“Boppy”) to Erin (Brian) Turner, Emmett, Chris and Connor McCoy, Ian and Ben Joslin, Brody and Keelin Oesterlein, and Fiona and Thomas Joslin; great-grandfather to Charlotte and Nate Turner; and brother of Chuck (Margaret), Mary Catherine (the late KJ) Phelan, John (Carol), the late Barbara Wilkie, and Bill (Mary Jane) Joslin.
A visitation was held July 23 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was celebrated on July 24 at St. Vincent Church, River Forest, followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
