Maureen Murray O’Bryan, 84, a lifelong resident of Oak Park, died on July 16, 2021 after a long battle with dementia. A graduate of Trinity High School (1954), Rosary College (1958) and a proud member of Company A for over 60 years, she was a woman of profound faith and leaves behind a legacy of joy: love of family and friends and devotion to her Catholic faith. Deeply loved and appreciated, she will never be forgotten.
Maureen is now reunited with her daughters, Deirdre Haefner and Kathleen Kurrle, who predeceased her in 2014. She is survived by her sons, Tommy (Mary), Danny (Pia), Patrick, Timmy (Renee), Dennis, Robert (Kathleen) and Kevin (Marie); her grandchildren, Tommy (Katherine) and Carolyn (Matthew) Gaspari, Vivienne, Eloise and Charlotte, Lee and Dean, Danielle, Bryan, Terry, Peter, Deirdre, and Eva, Maureen, Marni, Dennis and Bridget, Ben, Avery, Faye, Joe, Finn and Rhett, Dorie and Mary, and Niklas, Patrick, and Liadain; her great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Henry; her siblings, Kathleen (Frank) Gazzolo, Denis (Pat) Murray, Carol (Jim) Bracewell, Michele (Carter) Eckert, Dan (Pat) Murray, Deirdre (Phil) Collins, and the late Robert (Jean) Murray; and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Murray, and the former mother-in-law of Martha, Molly, Bruce and Jochen.
A funeral Mass was celebrated July 23 at St. Edmund Church with interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s name may be made to Misericordia.com.
