With the exception of the position of village clerk, River Forest’s April elections will feature nothing but contested races.
Cathy Adduci is running for a third term as village president against Patty Henek, who is currently serving as a village trustee.
Four candidates are running for three open trustee seats, those of Henek, Tom Cargie and Respicio Vazquez, all of whose terms are expiring.
Vazquez is seeking reelection, and he is joined in the race by Lisa Gillis, Ken Johnson and Johann Buis, all seeking places on the village board.
The terms of Trustees Katie Brennan, Erika Bachner and Robert O’Connell do not expire until 2023.
Jonathan Keller is running unopposed for the position of village clerk.
On the library board of trustees, two positions are up for grabs in the April 6 election, as the terms of Vice President Katherine Bevan and board member Alice Calabrese-Berry are ending. Bevan is seeking reelection, and Ann Berens and Cathy Ruggeri will also run for the two open spots.
For the District 90 elementary school board, four seats are open in April, as the terms of Stacey Williams, Nicole Thompson, Kate Avalos and Judy Deogracias are ending. All but the latter are seeking reelection, joined by Scott Hall and Sarah Eckmann.
On the River Forest Park District board, the terms of Ross Roloff and Mark Brown are expiring this spring. Four candidates are seeking election to the board: Incumbent Brown plus residents Mike Grant, Carl Bade and Brad West.
