The Oak Park Public Health Department announced Nov. 4 that 31 Oak Park residents tested positive for COVID-19 from Nov. 3-4. In the same announcement, the village announced eight Oak Parkers had positive results on Nov. 3 and 23 on Nov. 4.
That means 198 Oak Park residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Oct. 26. The village’s positivity rate has also risen a staggering amount, going from 4.36 percent on Oct. 28 to 7.04 percent on Nov. 4. The positivity rate declined slightly between Nov. 2 (7.23 percent) and Nov. 4 (7.04 percent).
According to the village’s Nov. 4 announcement, the newest cases come from residents who range in age from “less than 20s to 80s.”
River Forest has had 27 positive COVID-19 cases since Oct. 26. However, its positivity rate has dropped since Oct. 28. After being as high as 7.22 percent on Oct. 28, River Forest’s positivity rate has declined to 5.64 percent (as of Nov. 3).
