Colleen Renee O’Connor, 34, died on June 3, 2020, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 20, 1986, she was a lifelong resident of Oak Park, attending Lincoln Elementary School on the south side of Oak Park, Emerson Junior High, and Oak Park and River Forest High School, where she graduated in 2004.
She was passionate about many things including traveling, especially with her favorite adventure companion, Rudy, as well as nature and beagles. She loved to cook and dine out at new restaurants with her friends and family and she enjoyed the camaraderie of her PRIDE work family.
Colleen is survived by her mother, Barbara Gail O’Connor; her brothers, Sean, Eric (Jessica), and Brian; her nephews, Henry and Andrew; her uncle, Charlie (Mary Jo); and her cousins, Charlie, Kristen, and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her father, Mike O’Connor.
Visitation was held June 14 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home. Interment was private.
