It was a big year for foodies in Oak Park with more than a dozen new restaurants opening or in the works. Oak Parkers, however, were adamantly opposed to one new restaurant in the village — a Taco Bell drive-thru planned for the corner of Madison Street and Lyman Avenue.

That plan got scrapped and a handful of notable restaurants closed their doors this year, but overall, eateries flourished in 2017.
