Three-time Olympian, Craig Virgin, spoke to the Grace Lutheran School Cross Country team last Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Craig Virgin beat Steve Prefontaine’s National High School 2-mile record in 1973 running 8:40.9! Craig became the best XC runner in the world by winning the World XC Championships in 1980 and 1981. No other American has ever won the World XC Championships and Craig did it twice! Craig was recently inducted into the USA Track and Field Hall-of-Fame. He spoke about running from his early years to the Olympics.
