Finding dental care for children on Medicaid is challenging. But finding care for children who are difficult to treat — special needs children, children with extensive or complex oral health problems, and children with behavioral health issues — is nearly impossible.
The Oak Park-River Forest Infant Welfare Society Children’s Clinic is one of three finalists for the Wisdom Tooth Award, a $100,000 grant from Delta Dental Foundation of Illinois. This grant will allow the Children’s Clinic to improve the delivery of dental care for low-income children in Cook County through the creation of a Quiet Room for special-needs kids who become agitated by the noise in our open-bay exam rooms. It will also help in hiring another pediatric dentist, a dentist who has received two years of additional training in pediatric behavioral management.
You can help us win this special grant by voting during the week of June 23 for the Oak Park-River Forest Infant Welfare Society on Delta Dental of Illinois’ Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DeltaDentalIL and by asking your friends to vote for us as well.
Thank you for your support.
