The District 97 Board of Education has decided to cancel its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10, due to the unexpected death of D97 board member and D200 school board candidate Peter Traczyk, according to D97 officials.

The board has also decided to postpone its superintendent search activities, which were scheduled to take place this week. These include the public forums on Monday, Feb. 9 and Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Those forums have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17 and Wednesday, Feb.18.

“We will provide the time and location for both sessions as soon as they have been finalized,” school officials said in a statement released yesterday.

“We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause, and appreciate your support and understanding during this challenging time.”
