Officials from D97 have announced that classes will resume tomorrow, Jan. 9, according to the normal schedule. Both OPRF High School D200 and River Forest D90 schools re-opened for classes today.
“While the National Weather Service is predicting cold temperatures for tomorrow, the wind chill is not estimated to be as severe as it has been the past two days,” according to a statement released by D97. “As a result, school will be back in session. With that said, we strongly encourage students, staff members and parents/guardians to take the necessary precautions when traveling to and from school. “
District officials nonetheless encouraged parents and guardians to monitor weather conditions overnight, noting that they would notify households “if a change in the forecast or travel conditions warrant the cancellation of classes and after school activities.”
