Karin Sullivan, communications director at OPRF High School, said they started the school year with some good news. Both OPRF students who participated in the American Chemical Society (ACS) Annual Scholarship Examination in Chemistry last spring received top awards. Junior Conrad Brenneman, the third highest-scoring student, won $2,500. Junior Arjun Rawal, who placed fourth, earned $1,500. Each May, teachers throughout the Chicago area can nominate two students for the chance to earn scholarship funds by taking a very competitive chemistry test. Cheryl Rulis, OPRF chemistry teacher, nominated Brenneman and Rawal.
