An annual event not to be missed: tour five festive homes decorated for the 15th Annual OPRF Infant Welfare Society Holiday Housewalk and Market on Friday December 6 and Saturday, December 7, 2013.
Proceeds benefit the IWS Children’s Clinic—a clinic that provides medical, dental and behavioral health care to over 3,200 children whose families cannot afford the costs of private care.
Here is the line-up:
Holiday Housewalk
The Holiday Housewalk tour begins at the River Forest Community Center and includes tours through private homes in Oak Park and River Forest that have been specially decorated for the holidays. The tours of the Holiday Housewalk homes will be held on Friday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and from Saturday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Don’t miss the Jimenez Home in River Forest.
Holiday Market
In addition to the tours of five homes, the Holiday Housewalk event also includes an exceptional holiday shopping experience at the Holiday Market, which will be held at the River Forest Community Center. More than 30 juried artisan vendors with “one of a kind” gifts will complete this two day event. The Market is also open on Friday, December 6, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday, December 7 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Sugar Plum Preview Party
The Market opens with a special preview party on Thursday evening, December 5th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the River Forest Community Center. Tickets available on-line.
Dine and Share
Dine at one of our participating Dine and Share Restaurants on December 6 and 7, 2013! 10% of your purchase will be donated to OPRF Infant Society with proceeds benefitting the IWS Children’s Clinic.
Celebration Tables
Celebration Tables are featured at the Holiday Market. Tickets can be purchased for a chance to win the décor on the table. 2013 Table themes; 1-The Holly and the Ivy, 2- Eat, Drink, and Paint, 3-Shades of Gray, 4-Al Fresco to Go, 5-Rustic Luxe
Chef’s Tastings
Saturday, December 7th As you tour the Holiday Homes this year, enjoy samples of local Chef’s Tastings. Area restaurants have provided bite size portions of their food specialties in our holiday-decorated kitchens.
Tickets
Tickets for the Housewalk and Market are $40 in advance or $45 at the door, and $30 seniors. Advance pricing tickets are available until December 3 online at www.childrenscliniciws.org or at the following local vendors, Camille et Famille in Forest Park, Geppetos Toy Box and Careful Peach in Oak Park and Tulipia Floral Design in River Forest.
