Maria Papageorge, 32, a resident of Addison, died on Oct. 9, 2013. She graduated from Addison High School in Chicago and attended the College of DuPage for two years in the medical records program. Maria married Sammy Papageorge, owner of Papaspiros Agora Restaurant in Oak Park, in 2008. She had previously worked at the original Papaspiros Restaurant across the street.
“She was a very happy person,” said her father-in-law, Spiro Papageorge, “a giver.”
Maria Papageorge is survived by her husband, Sammy; her 4-year-old son, Aris; and her father-in-law, Spiro Papageorge.
Visitation took place on Oct. 11 at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel, 450 Lake St. in Roselle. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Oct. 12 at 9 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Demetrios in Elmhurst.
