By garnering 20 wins for the third time in the last four years and earning a berth in the sectional championship, the OPRF boys basketball team ended its 2012-13 campaign on a favorable note. With the conclusion of the season, now come the individual awards.

Academic All-conference selections this season included Alex Gustafson, Brian Loftus, Jake McCarthy, Dan Moon, Matt Van Liedekerke and Dylan Venerus.

Gustafson, who has committed to play at the University of Chicago next season, was also tapped All-conference, as was Erick Locke, who also garnered All-state Honorable Mention honors.

OPRF head coach Matt Maloney was also named Illinois Basketball Coaches’ Association District No. 7 Co-coach of the Year for the second straight season.
