Now comes word that River Forest’s public elementary schools, District 90, recently passed its tax levy for the new year. Not only did the school board choose not to grab the 3 percent tax hike allowed under the state’s tax cap law, they actually reduced the levy for the year.

This was done, we are told, because the school district felt it had enough money coming in and enough in reserve. Compare and contrast that with the actions of the school board at OPRF.
