It can be a little quiet on the Journal’s stretch of Oak Park Avenue. We’re a half block down from the Green Line and we’ve had some retail vacancies on this block which are only surpassed by the decades of Kleronomos blight down in the Arts District on Harrison Street. But now things are looking up. Two major holes are about to blossom into new eateries. On Monday evening, the village board was expected to approve a liquor license for Pints, a beer and burger spot that, rumor has it, will sport a retractable roof. And across the way, the long vacant Thyme & Honey space has also been leased with a report on its new use due next week.
For journalists who like beer, it could be a good spring.
