Police and officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation are trying to find a woman who tried and failed to rob a bank on the city’s West Side Thursday morning before robbing another one in Oak Park a half hour later.
FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde said the woman gave a note to the teller at Charter One Bank, 810 S. Oak Park Ave., demanding money around 10 a.m. and fled with an unknown amount of cash. No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.
Earlier that morning, at around 9:30 a.m., officers believe the same woman attempted to rob the PNC Bank at 3337 W. North Ave., Chicago, Hyde said. According to Chicago Police News Affairs, she handed the teller a note demanding money but fled with nothing. No weapon was reported in that incident.
