Our new staff photographer, David Pierini, captured this moment Tuesday afternoon on the 800 north block of Taylor Avenue in Oak Park.
Patti Wesley kisses her dog, Pooka, after a car crashed into her home. Wesley said she was grateful that neither she nor her children were home at the time of the accident and was also relieved her dog, which was home, was not hurt. Wesley said the driver and her two grandchildren were OK.
“I got a phone call saying you have to come home, there’s a car in your house,” Wesley said. “Thank God, no one was hurt, none of the children were out and nobody was home.”
