Oak Park village trustees are revving up to hire a new village manager — search firm, job description, interviews, hiring him, firing him. Oh, boy.

At least one trustee hopes that Oak Parkers will be interested and involved in the selection process. “This is the issue people should care about,” said Trustee Colette Lueck. And we promise we’ll get all invested in the exciting process of charting a fresh vision vis-a-vis a new manager just as soon as the current trustees tell us what happened to the last village manager, Tom Barwin.

Kind of hard to know what we’re looking for in a manager until we find out why the last manager suddenly resigned and seven normally chatty public officials got all tongue-tied.
