Begin your weekend on Friday night, 1/20 at the “$5 Documentary Film Festival” at the Madison Street Theatre, 1010 Madison St. in Oak Park. Come see “Inquiring Nuns” Friday night at 7pm and again on Saturday, 1/21 at 2pm. This is a wonderful doc which details two nuns’ exploration of Chicago in the late 1960s and their asking people “are you happy?”.  I’ve seen it, and its a heartwarming look at peopl’es concerns and hopes.   Also on Saturday, at 7pm, see “Graveyard Shorts” and “Something Better Somewhere Else” which also screens on Sunday, 1/22 at 2pm. See the attached clips to sample these great documentaries. Also, the director of “Something…” is an Oak Parker. Info at 708-524-1892.

Healy’s West Side, 7321 Madison St. in Forest Park invites you to their “Chili Cook-Off for Charity” which benefits Opportunity Knocks, a non-profit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities (www.opportunityknocksnow.org ). The event is on Saturday, 1/21 from 2 – 4pm and a suggested donation of $20 will get you appetizers, choice of chilis, drink specials and the NFC and AFC Championship games. Chili is prepared by celebrity chefs.Â
