It was the sort of vote that should have gone straight into the minutes book. Oak Park’s village board voting on contract for tree maintenance and removal services. It happened a couple of weeks back. And there is something strange about it.
The vote was scheduled for the totally routine consent agenda. At the last minute it was pulled for a roll call vote, which suggested a matter to be publicly discussed. But there was no discussion. And since then, despite numerous opportunities we’ve provided, there has still been no discussion or explanation. Our simple question: What gives?
