An Oak Park hospital just got a shout-out for its environmentally friendly business practices for the third year in a row.
Rush Oak Park Hospital announced last week that it has received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star for its “superior” energy performance, according to a press release. That’s because their building uses 35 percent less energy and generates 35 percent fewer greenhouse gasses compared to similar buildings.
Ways Rush was able to reduce its energy use included taking on recycling programs, using more energy-efficient lights and staggering the start up of equipment, according to the press release.
