Looking for something a little more substantive when buying your powdered doughnuts and tomatoes at the farmers market this Saturday? Then you might like what the Oak Park village board is slinging tomorrow.
Local elected officials will be one of the vendors at the market, which runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pilgrim Congregational Church parking lot, 460 Lake St. There, residents will have a chance to ask questions, air concerns or gab with local politicians. The farmers’ market appearance is part of the village board’s efforts to have more face-to-face time with residents outside village hall, according to a village email alert.
