Annie’s Beef, located at the corner of Lake and Lathrop in River Forest, will reopen for business within the next few weeks.
“The restaurant is targeted to be open by the end of the month,” said Village Administrator Eric Palm.
Annie’s is under new ownership, but Palm said the restaurant name will not change. The menu, too, will remain largely the same. The new owners are not willing to identify themselves to the public at this time, but Palm said their plan is to hire a manager, possibly within the next week, who will then speak to the press.
The popular restaurant was forced to close its doors in January after 26 years, a move that former owners Simon and Agnes Chung attributed to the rising cost of rent, and the uncertain future of the small strip of storefronts at the Lake and Lathrop intersection.
