Pioneer Press (aka the Sun-Times) announced Friday the closing of seven papers, one as close as Maywood. Our company closed a couple of papers a year ago, and we’ll testify it is no fun.
We’re heartened though that Sun-Times’ Publisher John Barron, an Oak Parker, professed his love for Oak Leaves. “It’s where I live, so it’s not going anywhere,” he said. That’s good news in a tough moment for people, who, like us, see the benefit of competition.
