The Julian Middle School girls cross-country team placed 18th out of 27 teams at the state cross-country finals held in Normal last weekend.

Seventh grader Haley Thompson led the team with a fifth-place finish on the 2-mile course in 11:56. Thompson was followed by sixth grader Caroline Galo, who took the last All-State spot in 25th place (12:18). Genevieve Curry placed 138th in 13:31, Katie Seitelman 139th in 13:31, Erin Shattuck 143rd in 13:32, Lucy Kenig-Ziesler 149th in 13:40 and Ellora Jaggi 171st in 14:09.

Eric Frost was the lone male representative from Julian, placing 123rd with a time of 12:07.

Brooks Middle School had two state qualifiers in Mary Blankemeir (17th, 12:09) and Ainsley Tran (59th, 12:35).
