A new restaurant is slated to open in early May at the corner of Lake and Harlem, filling a storefront in the River Forest Town Center that has sat vacant since December.
Noodles & Company, a national chain specializing in pasta dishes with Asian, Mediterranean and American flavors, may open in early May at 7215 Lake, according to Steve Gutierrez, village administrator in River Forest.
Municipal officials are already processing paperwork for the new business, and renovations at the site are ongoing. The restaurant’s Web site states it will be opening soon in River Forest, but does not offer a timeline.
A call to Mid-America, the leasing agent for the property, was not immediately returned.
The address is the former home of Pompei, a small Chicago chain of Italian restaurants that closed somewhat unexpectedly in December.
That business made a splash just prior to its closing when the manager was arrested for allegedly stealing several thousand dollars from the restaurant.
