We’re biased. But, heck, it’s the editorial page. Heard last week from a reader concerned that the sign for an honorary street name had faded. It’s the sign marking puny little Pleasant Place as Dominick Meo Way. On one side, she said, the sign had faded entirely. Worse, the reader said, when she called Oak Park Residence Corporation, the person she spoke to professed to not knowing who Dominick Meo was.

Say it ain’t so.

Dominick headed Community Chest for decades and was the spark for the residence corporation. His most notable achievement was construction of Mills Park Tower, the senior citizens’ high-rise. Could never be built today for 10 different reasons. That’s why the little road leading to the tower bears his name. If only you could read it.
