The OPRF baseball team upped its West Suburban (Silver) Conference win-streak to five games with a pair of victories over Proviso West on Saturday.

The Huskies dominated the Panthers with a barrage of runs to sweep the doubleheader 14-1, 15-6 in Maywood.

Andy Brashler led the scoring in the opener by going 3-for-4 with a single, double, and triple. Brashler’s near cycle produced three RBIs.

Ryan Dennehy earned the shutout on the mound for OPRF. The pitcher allowed just three hits and no walks in four innings, while striking out four. Elliot Davidson closed out the game by going three-up, three-down in the fifth inning.

Eric Halla was the Huskies’ battering ram in Game 2, belting a homer, a double and finishing with a whopping six RBIs. Sam Picchiotti drove in three runs with a double and a single.

Noah Styer (1-0) earned the win in the nightcap, which pushed OPRF’s overall record to 7-3 on the early season.

On Friday, OPRF managed just four hits in a 4-3 loss to Loyola Academy. A homer in the bottom of the sixth inning by T.J. Pantle gave the Ramblers the victory.

The Huskies host Leyden on Thursday (4:30 p.m.) before beginning a two-game series against conference cross-over opponent Hinsdale South on Saturday (2:30 p.m.). OPRF travels to Darien on Saturday, and then hosts the Hornets on Tuesday (4:30 p.m.).
