Jeanette Fields in a recent opinion column advanced the idea of recreating the Blue Parrot Patio restaurant for which Frank Lloyd Wright designed “The Celebrity Room.” This strikes me as an excellent idea to promote as plans are being made for the reopening of the Marion Street mall and revitalization of the downtown area. A Wright-designed restaurant could be a very appealing addition to the world famous buildings which attract so many visitors to Oak Park. I can visualize tour groups having lunch or dinner at a Blue Parrot restaurant as part of their time here, and I can imagine it being a popular place for Oak Parkers dining out.
